first lesson of the sem!
had the first ever lesson here at HKBU yesterday at 9.30am, barely an hour after i added the module. and guess what? it was JAPANESE! hahaha. nv did i expect myself to be doing jap here, but yea since it could fit into my timetable, why not? =P when i stepped into class on-the-dot at 9.30am, there was only one other student inside besides the teacher, so for a moment i was worried that there would only be 2 of us. in the end, there were 8 people - still very few, so we get called on very very often. i thot the first lesson would be slack, just intro to syllabus and stuff, but no! we learnt quite a few jap phrases and learnt to write a few hiragana characters alr! oh the teacher said i write BEAUTIFULLY. wahaha =P there's another lesson tmr, and i think i am supposed to already know the stuff i learnt yesterday. bleah. actually i was still unsure about taking jap, but the teacher is quite animated and funny that it becomes a joy to be in class, and i made a hong kong friend after the lesson, so i think i shall just stick with this module then. =)
was supposed to have ASTRO (omg.) in the afternoon but for some reason, the class wasnt on yesterday, so i went off to meet trier, my jc junior, early. she's back here to visit her relatives, to think we have to meet here in hong kong. -_- okok, it was my fault cos i am like perpetually busy every time she asks if we can meet. hahaa.
anyway, she brought me around mong kok, and we really ate and ate and ate and ate non-stop from 5pm to 9pm! i cannot rmb how much we spent exactly because it was really just walk-stop-eat, walk-stop-eat, walk-stop-eat - you get the idea. we had curry fishballs, bak tong gou 白糖糕, bubble tea, bbq squid, 鸡蛋仔, doughnuts, pan-fried dumplings, radish cake, soya bean, sausages..did i miss anything out? haha =P AND TRUST ME, EVERYTHING WAS JUST SO NICE TO EAT! OMG. must have put on several kilos yesterday. oh, and i found the other side of mong kok, the side that locals and not tourists go. heh =) cheap shoes, clothes, food etc etc. and, less crowded than "the other side". lol =P
anyway, we met 2 singaporeans who are studying here for dinner on sunday. i guess being around singaporeans is the closest we can get to home? we had hotpot, WAHHHHH also very nice! hahaha =P goodness me, i think i am eating too much, every time i see jodi stop way before me, i feel guilty! how?! but well, i guess that explains our difference in size. haha =P
wah, this has been a really image-heavy post...anyway, had the 221 equivalent this morning. i think it's slightly different from the 221 back home, cos it has a lot more on feature writing. i feel okay about the teacher, the things we did / are going to do in class, and i think it will be an interesting and different experience to be doing this here. one thing that's the same as back home for sure is the fact that we have to keep up with current affairs! haha. we are going to have a news quiz every week ok?! -_-
for some odd reason, i actually feel good going to school. i think it's partially cos the grades don't count here. hmmm. i actually enjoyed the walk i took alone to and fro school, feeling the cool breeze on my face, watching the people / cars go by. lol. something is wrong with me! haha =P
oh i realise i am not done with the photos...hahaa. some more here....i like this one, has the prospectus kind of feel, i can only say quality of photos taken by pro cameras are just different from those dummy digicams:
and feebs! does this photo remind you of the poster you have in your room?! haha. i hope i dint rmb it wrongly! =P i could have just taken the photo for you, make it into a poster and charge you 10 bucks for it or sth! haha. and yes, this is near to the street that has all the doggy stuff, so if you come here, we can get something for snoopy! HAHA =P
and for the sake of my cute neice(s) who see(s) the photos on this blog, i shall post this up so that she / they (i know one will be seeing this for sure, i dunno if the other will!) will rmb me as the jie jie who does that. haha. jinli thanks for taking this photo =)
ok i think i am done for now. it's scary how much stuff there is to type if i dun update this everyday. but now that school has kicked in, i think i will have less time and fewer photos to blog. i hope? it's so tiring! haha.
oh! since our mums will be looking at this....MUMMY, my friends bully me! i want to go home! JODI'S MUM, JINLI'S MUM, your daughters bully me here! boohoo...*sobs*
HAHAHAHA. ok time to go for dinner and then ATTEND CLASS at 7pm (ends at 10pm btw). hope the org comm here is not as bad as the one back home. =P
