i taught them how to use chopsticks!
yesterday, the student ambassadors brought us on a school tour, then we had lunch at lok fu (something like the neighbourhood centre). initially, i felt a little odd because i was afraid that the angmohs in my group thot that i am local when i am actually on exchange. it's very funny, cos though we are Asians in hong kong, we actually look out of place among the exchange students. fortunately i got on fine and had a really nice student ambassador. =)
anyway, we had lunch at this jap place, sat at the table with 2 guys from US, 1 guy from germany, a girl from france and the nice student ambassador. the menu was all in chinese, so i had to help translate them to english. i tell you, the process of ordering food was so painful, cos there were some words that i dint understand as well so there were some moments when i suddenly felt like i dunno how to talk. haha =P but i tried my best, and the meaning is there lah. =P
and and and, the best part was they were all trying to learn to use chopsticks and i actually could teach them how to! SO HAPPY. you see, it's ironic that i could do that cos i am the only one back at home who doesnt use chopsticks the right way! haha. but i guess, i could smoke them lah. i hope they dint see me use my chopsticks the wrong way when i ate. =P but i made a promise to myself: i would use chopsticks the right way by the end of 5 months.
fast forward one day. had a talk by the student affairs office, am thinking if i should join a sport or sth. haha =P but they dun have netball here, the closest is handball. still thinking. i think i should join unless bball sessions with jinli keep up throughout the sem, if not, sure become damn fat. haha =P yea, we bought a basketball on tues night and there's a court just 5mins away from hall so we went to play today! oh a korean exchange student (i think he's quite cool! i think...jinli likes! haha =P) came to join us for a while but obviously we were no match for him lah. -_- but it was definitely a good workout man! i wore fbt shorts in this cold weather to play, i wonder if the locals think i am mad. HAHA =P
alrite, shall not talk anymore..there's a hong kong tour tmr, i hope we can all go together. =) ok, time for everyone's favourite: PHOTOS! =P

erm i hope this will become one of our most frequented hangouts in the next 5 months? haha =P

jinli and i feeling proud of our "achievement"! makes me feel less guilty for eating all the oily stuff in the last 2 days! haha =P

check this out, quite a cool shot (eh i used my digicam lah, what you expect?) dun you think?! but uh, whether the ball went in...kekeke =P

i tell you, the kfc here is really nice! they have so many more varieties and instead of mashed potato, they have mushroom/jap curry rice etc as the side dish! the chicken wings are really savoury, something that cant be found in the outlets back at home!

and the four of us finally took a picture together, albeit with jodi's face cut halfway! hahaa.

ok jodi says i look like goldfish, cuiyi says i look like pufferfish. alamak -_- but i had a good laugh when i saw the photo just now. lol =P

rmb i said cuiyi and i will take a self-shot everyday with a different background? well, we forgot to do that last night so we took 2 to make up for it! haha. this is the nicer one, we took it on the mtr. we took the other one just downstairs. haha. then we counted, if there's going to be one photo everyday, we will have about 150 photos of just me and her by the end of this trip! -gasp-

due to special request from my dearest roomie, i shall post this photo up here too. it's supposed to reflect how lazy i am, always lying around and not wanting to move to get things done. haha =P
oh...i wonder why they all seem to have english names here, they cant pronounce hanyu pinyin properly and some people actually have problems with "layming" too. RAHH. jinli has decided to go with Jin (pronounced Jean), so maybe i should shorten it to lays - should be easier, but definitely not lazzie / lasy / lazy / oh-WHATEVER-you-get-the-idea as suggested by my DEAREST roomie. want to puke blood. 0_0
