hong kong tour!

yup, woke up early today cos the school arranged a hong kong tour for all of us exchange students. at first glance, i thot it was a super duper packed itinerary! like we only had half an hour at each place before moving off to the next destination, and i think half the time was spent travelling. ok i am lazy to type, so shall use pictures to replace words. =)


first stop: Wong Tai Sin Temple
been wanting to go there to pray since i reached, so it's good that they included it in the tour. the only problem - i dint know where to get the joss sticks so i just prayed using my hands -_- oh, and we took our first self-shot here...i say "first" because we took quite a few today since there were so many different backgrounds! hahaa. but jodi and jinli keep saying we should stop doing that cos it's always just us doing almost the same thing. can just photoshop us into different backgrounds or sth. but i think they are just jealous of us. HAHA =P


second stop: jade market
i'm sorry the photo above is a little lousy, but that's the only one i've got of the place. heh. i think jinli got a really cool watch here. *winks* =)




third stop: victoria peak
the first time i went in june'06, it was foggy, i couldnt see much except mist all around me. i went up there for a second time today, and i still can't see much! ARGHHH. i must go up to the peak some day when it's so clear that i can catch a super good view of the surroundings! i must! oh, and i passed by the hotel i stayed at when i was here the last time on the way to the peak. i dint know the road that leads up to the peak runs just behind the hotel i stayed at! at first i thot going up to the peak will be boring because i have been there before, but that was by tram, and trust me, going up there by bus is really....quite a ride! -_- cos the roads are so winding, the lanes are so narrow, and the bus goes at a pretty fast speed! i dint know it could feel so different to visit the peak by bus and not by tram! =)


fourth stop: lunch at jumbo floating restaurant
had our second dim sum lunch in two consecutive days. even though the lunch at jumbo is definitely much nicer than the one we had yesterday, i am kind of getting sick of dim sum alr, cos i had it even on the saturday just before i flew here! -_- dim sum overkill. haha =P with us in the photo are some other exchange students, those 2 on my left are from taiwan, and the next 2 are from canada. =)

fifth stop: repulse bay
for some odd reason, it was super sunny (it's supposed to be winter still!) when we got here, so the sun was shining so brightly and strongly at our faces, but then there was a cool breeze too so it wasn't that bad. i think this place is really pretty. i like the view. we can see the borderless south china sea from here, a feeling i always like - know no boundaries. this is also the area where the richer people stay. oh, i think what's interesting is also that the tour guide points out to us where the rich people stay along the way! haha. like lee ka-shing, stanley ho, and some guy who owns the jewelry chain chow tai fook etc etc etc, they all stay in huge mansions that seem to be so freaking out of the way! damn, if only i rmb where exactly they stay. haha =P


oh, i just have to post this photo up. haha. and jodi, no it's not unglam, in fact i think it's actually quite well-taken. HAHA =P


and this is the "famous" repulse bay landmark - the old repulse bay hotel building with the square hole (the orange frame thing) because of feng shui reasons. apparently, there's a dragon cave in the hills behind this building, and the entrance cannot be blocked, so the building is purposely designed to let the dragon pass through (ok, i think a fire has just broken out somewhere, the announcement from the fire brigade beside us is THAT loud). quite cool, dun you think? =)


i like this photo! the background is nice and the people are pretty! haha. and i realise we do look very hoy-sum (happy) every time we take a photo! =) i guess it's also partly because school hasn't started so we are still tourists at the moment. haha =P


ok now, this is the funny one. hahahaha! i laughed until i almost peng4 when i first saw it (click on the photo to enlarge then you'll get what i mean =p)! really laughed until peng4! the exchange student who helped us take this said, "say i love hong kong!" i was thinking, huh why on earth do we say that when it wouldn't have the same effect as cheese or...yah?! and hence the weird frown matched with a weird shape of my mouth. the rest of them are funny too, e.g. cuiyi's eyes are closed! HAHA =P


i thot this is quite funny too. we were walking back to the bus...check out jinli's expression (again, click to enlarge!), as if it's a really tough walk kinda feeling. contrast with jodi. haha =P

sixth stop: stanley

seriously, there's nothing much to buy at stanley market...i guess the only reason why i always wanted to go there is cos of that building! i found out today that it's actually the maritime museum. i like it cos i have seen it in a couple of hong kong dramas and i thot the area always looked very pretty on tv, so i must see it for myself. haha.

phew, am finally done! whopee! i can sleep now! =D before that, hahaha, let me tell you that after days of being around the exchange students, we all have our own eye candies!! =P so cool rite?! cuiyi has mr安全感 (sense of security) and mr pullover (she has 2!), jodi has mr lanky, jinli has mr kimchi (she refuses to change, says looks like the hk actor wong hei!), and i have mr toot toot. WAHAHAHA. someone pls tell me i can still remain sane by the end of the 5 months of hanging out with them?
