full-time.

hello my dears! finally, after 149days away from home, i'm BACK IN SINGAPORE! =)

before i say anything else, let me just finish chronicling my parents' visit to hong kong. i didn't have time the other day to post all those that i wanted to, so here i am with more photos! =)

this is from the cable car ride that i said was very well worth the 98HKD we paid for...
and the world's tallest outdoor bronze buddha..
we had to climb 250 steps to reach the top can?! but okay la, it's not that bad actually =)and this is fa yuen street - where i think is a much better place to walk around in than the "main part" of mong kok! =)

and day 4 was spent away from hong kong - took a side trip to zhuhai and macau. wahhh the underground mall at gongbei port is really a shopping haven man...things are pretty cheap - even cheaper if you know how to bargain, which i don't. LOL =P the place is really big, so if you are going there, make sure you have a whole day to shop and look around! =) got a pair of new adidas sneakers at 40SGD! haha so happy! =)

anyway, we WALKED over to macau after lunch. this is the old (i assume) border gate:
cos i've been to macau previously with my sis, so there wasnt much of a surprise element. and i think i can really pass as a tour guide lor. haha =P

due to time constraints, i only brought them to st paul's ruins...
the confectionery which is famous for their almond cookies, peanut cookies and the like...and check out this photo! haha. my parents were sitting in the same manner! quite cute hor? =P
and then venetian macao...where my parents won about 50SGD on the jackpot machine, and my aunt was so lucky to win in a lucky draw that gave her 3000HKD worth of game credits for the jackpot machines!! in the end she walked away about 300SGD richer! =D
we spent the last day hanging around in the mong kok area. had dim sum at london restaurant, then went to get hang heung lao po bing (the one that's from yuen long - the famous one), and did some last minute shopping at h&m. haha =P really bought a lot the last few days! so happy! hahaha.

and for some odd reason, my mum was very willing to spend ON ME on this trip! haha =P like kept asking me if i wanted this or that, said just get it she would pay etc etc. haha =P i felt so loved. lol. ehhhh there was this pair of orange adidas sneakers i've been eyeing for some time before my parents went over, but in the end i decided to give it up cos 1) it's not cheap - about 100SGD 2) i have tooooo many sneakers at home! even up to the very last minute, i was still thinking if i should just go and get that pair of shoes, my mum even wanted to give me the money (see what i mean by her willing to spend?), but in the end, i'm glad i was rational. hahaha =P

goodness me, the amount of stuff i had was really astonishing! hahaha. my parents dragged the suitcase on the right to hk, in it was the small suitcase you see on the left, and the orange duffel bag. all for the sake of helping me to carry things back to singapore. hahaha =P i think our combined luggage weight was about 60kg! of course, most of that was mine! HAHAHA =P
and the last hui lau san dessert i had at the airport...and you know what?! i was very sad that i didn't get to eat my favourite, super yummy claypot rice before i left! =( they said it was cos the weather's hot, so not many people want to eat claypot rice, thus they stopped the supply. =( so sad!
taking photos to kill time...and because of the bad weather in hk - red-signal thunderstorm, we had to wait an hour on board the plane, and only had newspapers for "entertainment" =.=
anyway, finally got HOME at 1230am this morning! WHOPEE! feels good to be home.
alrighty, i'm really tired - eyes are closing already...shall write a little more reflective entry tmr when i have the energy and am in the right state of mind to do it =) can't believe 5 months is over already. I AM REALLY HOME.
