yuen long!
yup, after much procrastination, i finally got myself down to the yuen long area today! =) i went there because i read about the ping shan heritage trail, and also decided to go take a look at the place cos when the place does appear in hk dramas, it's always cos the characters went there to get lou por peng (wife biscuits)!
this is the starting point of the heritage trail: tsui sing lau pagoda. according to the tourism board's guidebook, it's the oldest one in hk, believed to have been built by a 7th generation Tang clan ancestor in about 1486.
then there's sheung cheung wai, which is a 200-year-old walled village - people do live in there, i saw people walking out! and mind you, got young kids also lor...not just old people. heh =P

and then i decided not to continue walking and turned back for the LRT station. yup, hk has LRT too! =) just that theirs is slightly different from ours...theirs are like trams on the roads! like those in japan too!

i think there's a lot on trust here...cos there are no proper gantries to enter and exit. i wonder if they ever check. like if i get on the tram without tapping my card, would they ever know?! haha =P of cos, i paid the fare la =P
then i walked around the area....saw this dessert place that the guidebook recommended:

woah, eat until i want to puke! hahaha. very full! other than those fruits (very sweet!), there's chin chow below! it's really quite a lot for one person! =P
and of cos, there is the wife biscuits i went there for! =) haven't tried it yet, but it should be good la huh? =P
oh, and on the way back, this guy in front of me dropped A STACK of notes. i mean, money. okay it's not really STACK, but there was a 20bucks, and then there was this other bundle of money that had a few 20 and 10 dollar notes - didn't look long enough to see if there were other denominations. haha. i think there must have been about 100HKD at least? =P but of course, i picked the money up and caught up with him to return it to him la. and that pretty much sums up my day. =)
ahhh i need to start packing! tmr is the last day i have before my parents come on friday! it's really coming to an end!
