da jie's visit part 1

i havent been online these days cos i'm busy bringing my sister around. yup, she's been in hk since early sunday afternoon and will be till sunday evening! i'm back in my room now cos easter break ends today and i've got classes on wednesday -_- but it's a good thing that i dun have lessons on thurs and fri. haha. anyway, i am very lazy to blog cos i'm super tired from all the walking, shopping and eating...so shall leave you with photos. =)

we met up with my sister's friend adrian on the first night for dinner...we had steamboat! =) yum!

i think this is one of their special points - a tray of 12 different kinds of sauces / condiments / spices to add to your soya sauce. and this particular one caught my attention cos of its name:
we asked the manager why is it lam ma ma jhong, he said it's a brand in china - it's chilli, but there's a tinge of sourness in it too. heh i think the name is interesting =)

and we had dim sum on the second day at some atas place called Zen at pacific place...
the food was good, but we could have eaten alot more elsewhere with the money we paid. heh =P

after brunch, while adrian went on his way - he caught a movie, had tea at some hotel and waffle at a place run by his friend, my sis and i went to tsim sha tsui. we did some shopping - i finally got the pair of adidas sneakers i have been eyeing for a long time, the shop gave us a 10% discount, and the best thing is it's on my sister's account! yay! haha =) then we took in some sights along the harbourfront. i cant rmb this is my how many-th time there, but every time it's with different people at different timings, so i'm actually quite glad that i get to see the sights in different light, literally =P

sunset at victoria harbour! whopee! the first time i got such a picture was that at fisherman's wharf in taipei, and this is the second of such sunset photos! i like! =)

and avenue of stars at sunset...although yesterday wasnt exactly a very clear day, but i'm happy that the photos turn out to be quite okay and the visibility was quite high! =D
den adrian met up with us again and we had dinner at chao inn at No.1 peking road! omg, the teochew food was so heavenly!! our family dined at this place the last time we came, but i must admit that i have forgotten the taste, so when i put the food into my mouth, i thot it was soooo good!! i kept telling my sister how come i dun seem to rmb that we have eaten these things before?! yum!
and then we made a trip up the peak - it was a clear-enough night to see far enough, compared to the last time my family went when it was all just fog and more fog, and the time i went on the city tour organised by the international office. very pretty! =)

and my sis and i! =) then we had dessert at a cafe with very a very good view. i had good hot chocolate, and we shared a slice of blackforest cake. yum! the photo below is taken from where we were sitting...see the reflection of adrian and abit of the cafe's interior? =)

anyway, my sis came over to visit my hostel, and more importantly i deposited my bank draft, so after 3pm tmr when the bank clears it, i wont have to be a poor kid anymore! haha =P i brought her to kowloon city too, just to see a slightly different side of hong kong. then we took the red minibus for the first time to mong kok - the journey only about 10 mins, much faster than i expected! =) and we did quite a lot of shopping today too...haha. i've got a new bag, adidas jacket (AGAIN!), a couple of t-shirts...my sis got shoes, bag, top, t-shirt etc too...haha =P i couldnt make up my mind as to which jacket to buy, had a hard time choosing. =X will post photos of some of the "loot" up when i'm free to take photos and all! haha =P can i just say that it feels so good that the exchange rate is now 1sgd to 5.6hkd?! it makes quite a bit of difference leh! my jacket costs less than 45sgd! =) if i had gotten the other one, i would only have paid about 37sgd!!!

hahahaha. can you now tell why i was looking forward to my sister coming over?! lol =P check out the things we have been doing, buying and the food we have been eating! haha =P all on my sister's tab! =) but i do feel a little bad, cos dining in hk isnt exactly that cheap, so when i have money in the bank tmr, i will pay for some stuffs in the following days la huh? haha =D alrighty, it's time to turn in and get ready for class tmr!
